Her Excellency Rachér Croney, High Commissioner for Grenada to the United Kingdom, has been named a recipient of the Transformational Leader of the Year Award at the 16th Global Leadership Conclave 2026, in recognition of her contributions to international leadership, diplomacy, and public service. The award highlights the importance of principled leadership and effective diplomacy in advancing Grenada’s national interests, and strengthening international partnerships.
High Commissioner Croney joined members of the diplomatic corps and international business community representing more than 20 countries at the prestigious conclave, which brought together leaders engaged in shaping international cooperation and global development. From the Caribbean, His Excellency Edmund Hinkson, High Commissioner for Barbados to the United Kingdom, was also recognised among the award recipients, highlighting the region’s contribution to international leadership and diplomatic engagement.
This recognition reflects the important role of diplomacy in advancing cooperation and promoting sustainable development. For Grenada, effective diplomacy remains a vital instrument for advancing national development priorities, mobilising trade and investment, strengthening climate resilience and access to climate finance, promoting the sustainable development of the Blue Economy, and expanding opportunities in education, innovation, and capacity-building.
It also reflects Grenada’s continued advocacy for small island developing states, particularly in advancing climate justice, sustainable development and equitable access to development financing. Through dedicated public service and strategic international engagement, the High Commission continues to work towards building partnerships that strengthen Grenada’s resilience, expand economic opportunities, and deliver lasting benefits for the people of Grenada.
